Police: Baker man, who witnesses say is local rapper ‘Fredo Bang’, arrested after fight turns violent _lowres

Baton Rouge Police arrested a Baker man Sunday who allegedly opened fire on a man in November during an argument outside a north Baton Rouge apartment complex.

Fredrick T. Givens II, 19, who witnesses told police is a local rapper known as “Fredo Bang,” and an unidentified man pulled out handguns and started shooting at a victim when their Nov. 18 argument escalated into a fight around 5:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Denham Street, a Baton Rouge Police report says.

Givens and the second shooter fired their guns at the intended victim, but missed; however, their bullets struck a nearby occupied vehicle but apparently no one inside the vehicle was hit, according to the report.

As Givens and the other shooter attempted to flee in a vehicle, Givens, who was driving, crashed the vehicle into a car, according to the report.

Two witnesses told police they saw Givens with a gun in his hand, the report says.

The witnesses identified Givens from a photo lineup, according to the report.

Givens, 4506 Greenwood Drive, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.

Bail is set at $70,000.
