Two adults and two children escaped a fire of that started in a bedroom of a Siegen Lane apartment late Friday and caused heavy smoke damage but no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters arrived at the Siegen Village Apartments at 6630 Siegen Lane around 10:41 p.m. and brought the fire under control around 10:50 p.m., said St. George Fire Department spokesman Eldon Ledoux.
Two adults and two children were home when the fire began and evacuated the building without injury before firefighters arrived, Ledoux said.
The fire was contained to the single bedroom where it originated, but the apartment sustained heavy smoke damage throughout, he said.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and still under investigation, Ledoux said.
