A local rapper was shot on Cadillac Street and later died at a hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Police on Thursday identified the victim as 29-year-old Louis Robinson Jr., of 6013 Dutton Ave.

Department spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said police responded to the 4700 block of Cadillac Street off Plank Road in north Baton Rouge around 4 p.m.

He said police were alerted about the shooting when Robinson arrived at the hospital late Wednesday afternoon. He died from his injuries not long after.

Robinson was a local rapper who went by the name Louis Badazz. He had seen recent success with his song "Let Me Thru Dis B," which was performed by Southern University's Human Jukebox in 2016.
