Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards will hold a 2:30 p.m. news conference Wednesday to address the state's on-going response to coronavirus.

The news conference comes as Louisiana reported 2,083 additional positive cases Wednesday -- the highest single-day increase in cases in 88 days.

The previous high was on April 4 when there were 2,199 newly-reported cases. The all-time highest increase was 2,726 on April 2.
