East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis is is running for the parish's Clerk of Court position, qualifying Thursday for the Oct. 12 race.

The councilwoman, who's in the middle of her final term on the council, is the only other person so far running against incumbent Doug Welborn. 

Collins-Lewis, a Democrat, served three consecutive terms as the representative for District 9 on the Metro Council. Welborn, a Republican, has served as the parish's Clerk of Court since 1991.
