People come by the Louisiana State Archives building Monday Nov. 28, 2016, to cast their ballot in early voting for the runoff election Saturday Dec.10th. Early voting started last Saturday and will end this Sunday, December 3rd. The times are 8:30-6:00 each day.

East Baton Rouge Parish will be conducting a "voter registration week" drive to sign up voters at libraries from Aug. 21-25.

As the deadline approaches to register in time for the October 14 election, the city-parish Registrar of Voters, . Steve Rayborn is reminding people they can register or update their voting information online any time at, or people can go to his office in City Hall to do so.

Next week will also include many more face to face reminders for people to sign up to vote, as Rayborn's office will visit libraries throughout the parish to register voters between 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

  • August 22 Zachary Branch Library – 1900 Church St.
  • August 23 Carver Branch Library – 720 Terrace St.
  • August 23 Delmont Gardens Branch Library – 3351 Lorraine St.
  • August 23 Main Library – 7711 Goodwood Blvd.
  • August 24 Pride-Chaneyville Branch Library – 13600 Pride-Port Hudson Rd.
  • August 24 Eden Park Branch Library – 5131 Greenwell Springs Rd.
  • August 24 Greenwell Springs Road Regional Branch Library – 11300 Greenwell Springs Rd.
  • August 25 Jones Creek Regional Branch Library – 6222 Jones Creek Rd.
  • August 25 Baker Branch Library – 3501 Groom Rd.

Those registering to vote should bring identification to establish age, identity and residency. Identifications accepted include driver's licenses, birth certificates, utility bills, payroll checks or government documents that include a name and address.

Voters have until September 13 to register to vote for the October 14 election either in-person or via mail, while they have until September 23 to register online as a voter.
