The 2013 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature convenes at noon on Monday, April 8, 2013. Gov. LPB to air Jindal’s Legislature address

Louisiana Public Broadcasting will provide live statewide coverage of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s opening address to the joint session of the Legislature at 1 p.m. Monday.

The address will air on LPBHD and WLAE-TV32 in New Orleans.

“Louisiana: The State We’re In” cohost Shauna Sanford will anchor LPB’s coverage with analysis provided by Public Affairs Research Council President/CEO Robert Travis Scott.

In his address, Jindal is expected to discuss his proposal to drop the state’s income and corporate taxes and increase the sales tax.

Monday also marks the beginning of live coverage of the Legislature on LaTV. In this partnership, LPB, the Legislature and the Louisiana Cable Telecommunications Association, called LCTA, join forces to provide live coverage of the Legislature weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Check the cable provider in your area to see if they are carrying LaTV.

The Louisiana House and Senate shoot the proceedings, LPB uplinks the coverage around the state and the LCTA signs up its members to carry the coverage.
