An episode of HBO’s “Vice” that features Gov. John Bel Edwards and LSU President F. King Alexander is slated to air at 10 p.m. Friday.

Edwards, who took office Jan. 11, filmed an interview with the documentary series in April, with his spokesman noting that it was expected to focus on higher education affordability.

The episode promo posted on HBO’s website doesn’t feature Edwards, but describes the segment as focusing on “the debt crisis that’s crushing America’s students.”

Alexander, whose spokesman confirmed that he also was interviewed, isn’t featured in the promo either but there is a quick aerial shot of LSU’s campus and Tiger Stadium.

Louisiana’s per student higher ed funding has fallen more than any other state over the past eight years, after years of repeated budget cuts.

The Legislature is still working to craft a budget for the year that begins July 1 that could even further slash funding for colleges and universities.
