Scouts from the Cradle of Liberty Council, BSA in Pennsylvania and the Great Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America in Missouri helped residents in Catahoula in St. Martin Parish fill sandbags ahead of Tropical Storm Barry on Friday, July 12, 2019. 

Pointe Coupee Parish has instituted a curfew to start at 8 p.m. and continue until 6 a.m.

In an online post just after 10:30 a.m., Parish President Major Thibaut said the curfew will be "strictly enforced" and only essential or critical personnel will be allowed on the streets.

"This curfew is being to save lives and keep people out of danger," Thibaut said.

Iberville Parish instituted a standing curfew Friday night, which it plans to continue Saturday night.
