The issue between Common Core and state education is a serious debate in Louisiana. Parents argue that Common Core is too difficult, and the federal government wants to improve standardized testing. Although this does not seem fair to states, our democracy can be run like a business.

While Common Core is now opposed by the state governor, he is the one who agreed to the implementation of this standard. This means that it would be fairly difficult to remove the Common Core educational system.

Common Core is not bad, either. The idea of increasing the U.S. standard in math and science is necessary to compete with better education in other countries. The states should support Common Core to give our country a better chance in competing with other countries in education.
