The Advocate wasted 600 more words than needed on the topic of public support for Common Core in the election.

Simply, those who loudly opposed the implementation of these standards were told what to think, how to think and what rhetoric to repeat. The leaders of this faux outrage took their victories, even when it was for the removal of a poor curriculum purchase, and crowed about it.

The reality is the replacement materials are Common Core State Standards-aligned, but the protesters did not have enough information to recognize the slight of hand.

The election reflects how ill-informed the Louisiana voters are on the topic. It also reflects the hubris of the false prophets who led the charge in that they did not return to inform the population on the impact of their collective vote. If there ever was a question of the intentions of one side, the evidence speaks for itself.
