Politico Magazine informed the nation this month that Louisiana has fallen into last place on the list of most desirable states in which to live. The magazine’s annual list carries on a tradition started in the 1930s by journalist H. L. Mencken, who sought to identify “The Worst American State.”

Louisiana legislators, have you no pride in our state? How did you let Louisiana fall behind Mississippi into last place? Do something about it! Work with John Bel Edwards to put in place the necessary changes, rather than work against him as some pessimistic critics would like for you to do.

The West Point graduate and U.S. Army Ranger deserves a chance to succeed. If he does, Louisiana can finally move forward on the road to reaching its vast potential, which has always been much greater than other Deep South states.
