It was not meant to be for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Ole Miss, motivated by a decades-long drought, fought hard in the Lafayette super regional tournament to knock out Louisiana’s last hope for the College World Series.

We hoped to see the extraordinary 58-10 season of the Cajuns crowned by a run at the CWS, the place where the team with the nation’s best record ought to be.

But the regional tournaments on the way to the CWS are tough, and the Rebels took full advantage in comeback wins on the Cajuns’ turf.

Still, what an incredible season for the team and coach Tony Robichaux. We applaud them for their victories during the year.
