A one-time Texas A&M commitment, Netherly (a mid-year enrollee) committed to LSU in June and was the only receiver committed to the Tigers until mid-December. He played exclusively quarterback during his senior year, but the rangy Texan put up gaudy receiving numbers in his junior year. He provides a deep threat to a receiving corps losing Travin Dural, Malachi Dupre and Jazz Ferguson.

Directing a 9-3 playoff team, Netherly threw for 1,892 yards and 21 touchdowns while running for 657 yards and 10 TDs in his senior year. … As a junior, he caught 60 passes for 1,002 yards and 18 touchdowns while running for 230 yards and four touchdowns. … Ranked the 44th-best prospect in Texas and the No. 256 overall prospect, per 247Sports’ composite rankings. ... ESPN gave him his highest overall ranking, listing his as the No. 192 prospect in the country.

"Netherly has the size most college coaches covet today. But what he does so well that many do not at his size is move in space. He is not just a straight-line runner; he is elusive in space, and he can make plays from anywhere on the field.” —’s Chad Simmons
