LSU will be the final team to meet the media when the Southeastern Conference Media Days conclude Friday in Hoover, Ala.
Head coach Les Miles and three players will discuss the upcoming season with hundreds of members of the media.
Miles will be joined by three seniors - quarterback Jordan Jefferson, linebacker Ryan Baker and offensive lineman T-Bob Hebert. LSU announced in a news release Thursday that Hebert was taking the place of junior wide receiver Russell Shepard, who “will miss the event for personal reasons.”
The Tigers are one of four schools participating on the final day of the three-day event, which signals the unofficial start of the league’s football season.
LSU’s appearance begins at 10:50 a.m. and concludes at 1:30 p.m. Miles’ session with the print media will be televised live on ESPNU from noon to 12:40 p.m. Fans can also follow updates throughout the day on Twitter and Facebook. The Tigers report to campus for preseason camp Aug. 3 and their first practice is scheduled for the following day.?
The media sessions kick off at 8:30 a.m., with Alabama, featuring coach Nick Saban, senior safety Mark Barron, junior linebacker Don’t’a Hightower and junior running back Trent Richardson.
The Crimson Tide will be followed by Vanderbilt, featuring coach James Franklin, senior cornerback Casey Hayward, senior linebacker Chris Marve and senior quarterback Larry Smith.
The Commodores will be followed by Ole Miss, featuring coach Houston Nutt, senior running back Brandon Bolden, senior defensive end Kentrell Lockett and senior offensive tackle Bradley Sowell. Bolden is from Scotlandville Magnet School and Lockett is from Hahnville High.
