LSU's 14th-ranked softball team opens a five-game homestand with an opponent it surely expects to beat.

The Tigers face off against Northwestern State at 6 p.m. Tuesday. LSU is 27-0 all-time against the Demons, including a 5-2 victory last season.

That said, LSU (32-10) would love to get back on the winning track. The Tigers were swept in a three-game series at No. 10 Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, and they have a tough series coming up this weekend against No. 9 Texas A&M on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Tiger Park.

Cayla Jones leads Northwestern State (24-15) with a .430 batting average and eight home runs, and pitcher Micaela Bouvie is 12-7 with a 2.13 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 111⅔ innings pitched.

Aliyah Andrews batted .455 in the three games against Tennessee to raise her average to .349. Allie Walljasper has a 0.94 ERA.
