Two days after one of the best rushing games of any LSU player in the program’s history, running back Leonard Fournette is pulling in the honors.
Fournette was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, and starting RT Vadal Alexander was the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week. Fournette is also the Walter Camp Football National Player of the Week.
It’s the second straight week that LSU had Fournette and an offensive lineman receive the conference’s weekly honor. Center Ethan Pocic was the SEC Offensive Player of the Week last week.
Fournette has run for more yards in the first two games of a season than any player in LSU history. He’s scored six touchdowns in seven quarters of play this year. On Saturday in a 45-21 rout of Auburn, Fournette had a host of memorable runs and broke out of 14 tackles during his 19-carry day.
