Going into the final week of the regular season, the LSU gymnastics team is number two, with two at the top.

The Tigers retained their No. 2 ranking Monday behind Oklahoma. LSU has a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 197.755 to the Sooners’ 197.995. UCLA, Utah, Florida and Alabama round out the top six.

Two LSU gymnasts are atop individual standings, according to RoadtoNationals.com. Senior Myia Hambrick, who sat out on floor this past Friday at North Carolina State after a perfect 10 on March 4 against Auburn, is still No. 1 in that event with an RQS of 9.970. This week, junior Sarah Finnegan is tied for No. 1 for the first time on uneven bars with Florida’s Alex McMurtry. Both have RQS averages of 9.955.

Finnegan is also No. 4 nationally in the all-around, and Hambrick is No. 5. Finnegan is also tied for sixth on floor and balance beam, while Hambrick is tied for eighth on beam. Junior Lexie Priessman is tied for seventh on bars, and sophomore Kennedi Edney is tied for 10th.

Hambrick is tied for 12th on vault, LSU’s highest-ranked gymnast in that event.

As a team, LSU (14-1) is ranked No. 1 on floor and bars, third on beam and fifth on vault. Arizona, the opponent for Saturday’s 4 p.m. meet in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, is No. 36 overall with an RQS of 195.520. RQS is determined by taking a team’s top six scores — three of which must be from road or neutral meets — dropping the high score and averaging the rest.
