Former LSU running back Leonard Fournette came up big for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Sunday's AFC divisional playoff with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The dynamic rookie rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns in the 45-42 win to send the Jaguars to the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots.

The secret to his success? It could be his raw athleticism, strength and running ability. Or it could have been what many noticed creeping out from under his jersey.

LSU school officials confirmed the purple and gold seen peeking out of Fournette's sleeves during the game were LSU shoulder pads.

The school's equipment personnel sent Fournette the pads before the season started, so while this may be the first time people noticed them, it's likely this isn't the first time Fournette has worn them during a game.
