1. LSU (5-0, 3-0; Last week: 1)

You thought Florida’s defense was a tough hurdle for Leonard Fournette, but he’s got a bigger one: SI cover jinx.

2. ALABAMA (5-1, 2-1; LW: 2)

Blowout win at Georgia aside, season has been more of a slog than a sprint for the Tide.

3. FLORIDA (6-0, 4-0; LW: 3)

The Gators need stiff, NCAA-approved drink after the Will Grier suspension, Porter arrest.

4. TEXAS A&M (6-0, 2-0; LW: 4)

Aggies no doubt remember 59-0 loss at Bama last year, but can they avenge it?

5. OLE MISS (5-1, 2-1; LW: 5)

It doesn’t look tough, but short trip to play at 5-0 Memphis looks like a trap game.

6. KENTUCKY (4-1, 2-1; LW: 7)

Worries about Skal Labissiere’s eligibility can go on hold since the Cats are in serious contention in the SEC East.

7. GEORGIA (4-2, 2-2; LW: 6)

Outpouring of well wishes for Nick Chubb reminiscent of Marcus Lattimore situation.

8. TENNESSEE (3-3, 1-2; LW: 12)

Vols finally have their signature win and a week off to admire it on SEC Network reruns.

9. MISSISSIPPI STATE (4-2, 1-2; LW: 9)

Bulldogs have had a competitive series with La. Tech, only leading 8-3. Not a lock.

10. MISSOURI (4-2, 1-2; LW: 8)

The Tigers look like they will have to find a ticket broker for this year’s SEC title game, just like everyone else does.

11. ARKANSAS (2-4, 1-2; LW: 10)

Bret Bielema a flopper in more ways that one: UF’s Jim McElwain has one more SEC win than Bielema has in 3 years.

12. AUBURN (3-2, 0-2; LW: 11)

Gus Malzahn to pick QB just before kickoff Thursday. He welcomes Twitter suggestions.

13. SOUTH CAROLINA (2-4, 0-4; LW: 13)

Gamecocks probably have more fight in them the rest of this season than their former coach ...

14. VANDERBILT (2-3, 0-2; LW: 14)

... but there’s no getting around the fact these two teams play in the SEC’s worst matchup.

Florida at LSU, 6 p.m. Saturday (ESPN)

Only three unbeaten SEC teams are left, and one of them will fall Saturday night in this top-10 showdown in Tiger Stadium. The Gators have been the surprise of the conference, storming to a 6-0 start (4-0 SEC) to take charge of the SEC East. But the Gators face major distractions this week from the suspension of QB Will Grier and Wednesday’s arrest of backup CB Deiondre Porter. Still, Florida’s defense will be the best LSU has faced this season.

Florida is the SEC’s best road team since 1992 (75-29, .721) ... With Steve Spurrier (228 wins) out, Missouri’s Gary Pinkel now has the most wins of any SEC coach (190). ... Leonard Fournette is the 11th FBS player and first since 2006 to reach 1,000 yards in his first five games and the quickest in SEC history.
