It’s official now – well, mostly.
ESPN’s popular pregame college football show, College GameDay, will broadcast from LSU’s season opener against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field on Sept. 3, Kirk Herbstreit said on Doug Gottlieb’s radio show Friday.
“Week 1 College GameDay is at Lambeau for Wisconsin-LSU,” said Herbstreit, the former Ohio State quarterback and lead analyst for College GameDay.
Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez announced in April that the show would shoot from what’s expected to be a titanic showdown between the Tigers and Badgers at the Packers’ home field, but no one from ESPN had confirmed the news.
In fact, Lee Fitting, the show’s producer, tweeted last month suggesting the network hadn’t decided on a location from which to air during college football’s blockbuster Week 1. Herbstreit released his Week 1 schedule to Gottlieb.
After the College GameDay show in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Herbstreit will fly to Dallas, Texas, to cover the Southern Cal-Alabama match. He’ll also call the Florida State-Ole Miss meeting Monday, Sept. 5, in Orlando, Florida.
