Florida State right fielder Steven Wells returns a beach ball to the stands in the eighth inning during Game 2 of the College World Series between LSU and Florida State, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. LSU won 5-4.

Like clockwork, the LSU Tigers came alive after trailing late against Florida State in their College World Series opener in Omaha, Nebraska.

While LSU's bats played a role in the Tigers turning a 4-3 deficit to a 5-4 win, an unlikely object has been getting online attention as the possible catalyst to the latest LSU rally -- a beach ball.

With Cole Freeman on first base and Antoine Duplantis at the plate in the bottom of the eighth, a beach ball made its way to the field from the right-field bleachers. Florida State right fielder Steven Wells picked it up, tossed it back into the crowd and went back to his position.

The next time Wells was in action, he allowed Duplantis’ single to roll under his glove. When Freeman and Duplantis both advanced on his mistake, he compounded his first error by uncorking a wild throw to second base, allowing Freeman to score the tying run.

Also just like clockwork, the internet jumped on the #rallybeachball bandwagon on Twitter and showed no mercy to Florida State.

Here are some of the best reactions to LSU's latest comeback victory.
