LSU is No. 19 in the first-ever College Football Playoff committee’s top 25.

The Tigers (7-2, 3-2 Southeastern) are the second highest-ranked two-loss team in the poll. Oklahoma (5-2) is No. 18.

The poll was released Tuesday evening on ESPN and will be revealed each week leading up to the four-team playoff, which is set to start with the semifinals - the Rose and the Sugar bowls - on Jan. 1.

LSU hosts the No. 6 team in the committee’s poll, Alabama, on Nov. 8. The Tigers have a bye this week. The playoff committee’s top four include No. 1 Mississippi State, No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Auburn and No. 4 Ole Miss. LSU has played the three SEC Western teams among the group, losing to Auburn and Mississippi State and beating Ole Miss last Saturday 10-7.
