New LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron has only been on the job for a few months, but it sounds like the Tigers have already latched onto the fiery assistant.
"It’s special. There’s a bunch of people who don’t have the passion for the game that you should at the college level. He definitely has it, and a lot of guys on this team have it, so it’s a good bond and a good connection," defensive end Tashawn Bower said in a recent ESPN.com story.
"We absolutely relate and connect well with him."
And of course everyone wants to know...has Coach O ripped his shirt off yet?
"Not yet, not yet," safety Jalen Mills said in the report.
An aggressive recruiter and demonstrative coach, Orgeron reiterated to ESPN what he's said many times since arriving -- he loves his new home.
“I love the music. I love the band. I love them to come to practice. I love the jock rallies. I love the LSU Tiger Band and the Golden Girls. I love the fight songs,” Orgeron said last month. “Are you kidding me? ‘Hold that Tiger?’ Think about it.”
The Tigers conclude spring practice with their spring game Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
