LSU is getting its own weekly version of ESPN’s College GameDay.

Cox Sports Television is beginning an hour-long show this season that will precede all 12 of the Tigers’ football games.

LSU Gameday Live will air each Saturday at 11 a.m. and will broadcast live from a stage erected near LSU’s mobile audio studio, Tiger One, and from CST’s Louisiana CAT Studio in New Orleans.

Gordy Rush, VP/market manager for Guaranty Broadcasting and LSU sport radio’s sideline reporter, will serve as the main host on the live set. Current CST anchor and announcer Victor Howell will serve as the studio anchor.

Color analyst will include former LSU players Kevin Mawae and Jacob Hester. Emily

Villere, coordinator of offensive operations for the LSU football team and media reporter, will serve as the show’s roving reporter.

“That’s the feel we want – ESPN GameDay but an LSU version,” said Chris Jackson, marketing manager for CST. “A lot of Xs and Os. A lot of behind the scenes access you don’t ever see. Pretty much all access.”

Segments will include weather reports, interviews with coaches from LSU and that week’s opponent, tailgating features with fans, stories from the Golden Band from Tigerland and more.
