A third Jefferson brother will be an LSU Tiger.
Justin Jefferson, a three-star wide receiver out of Destrehan High School, is scheduled to join LSU as a late signee, according to message he posted on Twitter. Jefferson is the younger brother of former quarterback Jordan Jefferson and former safety Rickey Jefferson.
Justin, a 6-foot-2, 180-pounder, is expected to fill LSU's allotted 85 scholarships and its camp limit of 105 participants. The Tigers held their third day of camp Wednesday.
Jefferson is the 26th member of the 2017 signing class, counting offensive tackle Seth Stewart, who left the program after a brief stay in June. Jefferson had scholarship offers from the likes of Tulane, Northwestern State and Nicholls State.
Jefferson did not sign in February because of academics, SECCountry.com reported. He eventually completed his senior year in good standing.
Jefferson's addition should help at one of the more thin positions on the team. LSU held spring practice with seven scholarship wideouts. The Tigers added an eighth with the arrival this summer of freshman Racey McMath and picked up Texas Tech transfer Jonathan Giles. Giles is not eligible until the 2018 season.
Andre Anthony was alone.
