After years of having a pay-based subscription model, LSU Athletics Department will now offer — free of charge — at least 165 live game broadcasts on LSU Sports Radio Network and 77 coaches’ radio shows on LSUsports.net Live starting this year.
The free streaming will include on-demand and live video of certain non-game action like coaches’ television shows, news conferences and special presentations, the athletics department said Tuesday. More than 700 hours of original content is streamed annually on LSUsports.net.
The radio network will broadcast live for football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball and softball as well as regularly scheduled news conferences, coaches’ shows and postseason events.
Access will be available on mobile and desktop devices at LSUsports.net/live — though mobile data and other charges may apply.
The radio broadcast season begins Aug. 24 when Chris Blair teams up with LSU’s football coach for the “Les Miles Shows presented by Capital One Bank” at TJ Ribs.
Live streaming of a majority of home LSU athletic events will continue to be offered on SEC Network and WatchESPN. LSU began streaming official audio broadcasts in 1999.
