Texas A&M running back Trayveon Williams (5) gets upended as LSU linebacker Devin White (40) closes in for the stop during the first half of LSU's football game against Texas A&M at Tiger Stadium Saturday Nov. 25, 2017, in Baton Rouge, La..

Two Matchups To Watch

LSU LB Devin White vs. ND RB Josh Adams

White is 10th nationally in tackles (127) and Adams is 16th nationally in yards (1,386). It’s a big boy battle between these two. They’ll be clashing regularly on Monday, locking horns in a matchup that could decide the outcome. Adams, a junior, is still deciding on his NFL future. A good showing against LSU’s defense could send his stock soaring.

ND CB Julian Love vs. LSU WR DJ Chark

Love, a sophomore, leads the Irish with three interceptions, and he’s returned two for touchdowns, just the eighth ND player to do that in a single season. He’s got 17 passes defended and 62 tackles. Chark leads the Tigers in receptions (35) and yards (811). This is the matchup to watch on the outside Monday.

LSU: Keep An Eye On No. 24

Georgia native Tyler Taylor is expected to start at inside linebacker, replacing Donnie Alexander (shoulder). The freshman will make his fifth start of the season, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a first-year player trying to stop the seventh-best rushing attack in the nation.

Notre Dame: Keep An Eye on No. 56

It is not often we ask you to watch an offensive lineman, but this is an exception. Quenton Nelson, a 6-5, 330-pounder from New Jersey, is a consensus All-American and a guy coach Ed Orgeron claims is one of the best guards in college football.
