LSU added another top recruit to its defensive line Wednesday when Destrehan’s Glen Logan verbally committed to the Tigers.
“I’m proud to say that I am committed to LSU #GeauxTigers,” tweeted the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Logan.
Logan is rated a four-star prospect, according to Rivals and 247 Sports.
He also had scholarship offers from a long list of schools including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M.
“They are getting a great player,” Destrehan coach Stephen Robicheaux said. Obviously when you are getting recruited by those type of schools, everyone thinks you’re a great player.
“He is hard worker. What’s impressive is he’s 300 pounds, but he is skinny. That’s impressive about his body type. He’s a long lean kid and plays with tremendous technique.”
Logan anchored Destrehan’s defense last season, helping the Wildcats reach the Class 5A state championship game. He recorded 26 solo tackles and 19 assists, including four tackles for loss and 21/2 sacks headed into the championship game. He also had an interception and two pass deflections.
“He is a student of the game,” Robicheaux said. “He loves playing football and besides all of that he is a great kid, a ‘yes sir, no sir’ kid. He is a hard worker, and he’s coachable and has just gotten better and better.”
Logan is the 11th player to commit to LSU’s Class of 2016 signing class and the second standout defensive lineman. Edwin Alexander, a five-star recruit from St. Thomas Aquinas, committed to the Tigers in April. He can make his commitment official Feb. 3, national signing day.
