The weather has forced changes to the weekend baseball series between Southern and South Dakota State at Lee-Hines Field.
The opening game Friday has been moved from 6 p.m. to 2 p.m. because of near-freezing temperatures forecast for after sunset. Jagurs coach Roger Cador said the teams tried to schedule the game even earlier in the day, but couldn’t get an umpring crew any earlier.
Sunday’s single game has been moved to Saturday and will be part of a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. That move was made because of the potential for rain Sunday. Both games will be nine innings.
Southern is 2-6 and the Jackrabbits are 2-5. South Dakota State also added a game against Belhaven College at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
