New Orleans chefs and husband-and-wife team Cody and Samantha Carroll star in a new Food Network show, Cajun Aces, beginning Dec. 2.
The couple run the Cajun-inspired restaurant Sac-A-Lait (1051 Annunciation St., 504-324-3658) in the Warehouse District and Hot Tails in New Roads. The show follows the chef duo while also exploring Cajun cuisine and culture.
[jump] Cajun Aces follows the couple on visits to their family farm in Batchelor, Louisiana, where they source everything from okra to crawfish, and then illustrates how the ingredients are used at both restaurants. The episode lineup so far includes crawfish, turkey, pecans, redfish, okra, mirlitons, pigs and figs.
The couple opened Hot Tails, a casual Cajun and Creole restaurant, in April 2010, a couple of months after they graduated from culinary school. In 2015, they opened Sac-a-Lait, an upscale restaurant focusing on seasonal Cajun and Creole-inspired dishes.
The premier episode “Crawfish and Mirliton” airs at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 on the Food Network. For more information visit the network’s website here.
