Weeki Wachee Mermaids to swim at Audubon Aquarium_lowres

The Mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Florida have been a popular visitor attraction since the City of Mermaids opened in 1947. Women performed synchronized underwater swimming shows and the park became one of Florida's early roadside attractions, drawing visitors from around the world.

A school of Mermaids visits Audubon Aquarium of the Americas for a two-week stint (Oct. 15-18, 22-25), and they'll swim in the Gulf of Mexico exhibit throughout Aquarium hours and Mermaids will be available for photos outside the tank as well.

In recent years, the Mermaids have performed their underwater shows at aquariums around the country. At Audubon, they'll be swimming continuously, but there's no show. They'll also swim in the Great Maya tunnel.
