What does your favorite band cost?_lowres

Bruno Mars performs at the Smoothie King Center June 7.

The website priceonomics.com  posted a list of what its source says is a third-party booking agency's menu of fees for a long list of popular bands. It includes many recent New Orleans Jazz & Heritage FestivalVoodoo Music + Art Experience and BUKU Music + Art Project performers. For example, the list says Bon Jovi asks for more than $1 million for a concert. New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation IRS form 990 for 2011 lists Bon Jovi Tours Inc. as an entertainment expense of $990,000.

It should be stressed that these are figures provided not by the bands, but by a third-party booking agency that specializes in college markets. And that they are essentially asking prices. Priceonomics also was skeptical about some numbers based on comparisons to a Forbes list of top grossing entertainers. The priceonomics list puts Bruno Mars around $500,000, but this Celebrity Talent International site says more than $1 million.

But here are some of its fees for acts that visited New Orleans recently:

Arcade Fire $150,000

Avicii $150,000-$200,000

Bruce Springsteen $1 million plus
