Mr. Ed’s Seafood and Oyster Bar to open on St. Charles Avenue_lowres

Mr. Ed's Seafood and Oyster Bar is opening on St. Charles Avenue in March.

Local seafood restaurateur Ed McIntyre is opening Mr. Ed’s Seafood and Oyster Bar on St. Charles Avenue this spring.

It’s the seventh restaurant for McIntyre, who runs restaurants in Jefferson Parish and Mr. Ed’s Oyster Bar & Fish House in the French Quarter. McIntyre opened the first Mr. Ed’s Oyster Bar & Fish House in the former home of legendary Metairie seafood house Bozo’s in 2013.

Stacy Meyer, the restaurant group’s area manager, said McIntyre hopes to be open sometime in March, following a month of renovations to the space at 1327 St. Charles Ave., which was previously occupied by Santa Fe Tapas.

“Charbroiled, raw and fried oysters will be our specialty,” Meyer said, adding that the spot will likely offer daily lunch specials to appeal to the downtown business crowd.

The restaurant, which sits adjacent to the Maison St. Charles Hotel and Suites, will have a full bar and a banquet room which can accommodate up to 250 people.

Mr. Ed’s Seafood and Oyster Bar will be open daily for lunch and dinner.
