This just in from our compatriot Reese Fuller at The Independent in Lafayette:

Punxsutawney Phil up there in Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa., might have seen his shadow this morning, meaning six more weeks of winter. But down here, that wasn't the case. It was pretty overcast this morning in New Iberia, and according to The Daily Iberian, Pierre C. Shadeaux, the weather-forecasting nutria rat, did not see his shadow, which means a longer spring for us all.
