The bar at Mid-City’s Brown Butter Southern Kitchen & Bar is now open, the restaurant’s owners announced this week.

The latest addition to the expanding culinary corridor on North Carrollton Avenue, Brown Butter (231 N. Carrollton Ave., 504-609-3871) has been serving “Bible Belt” cuisine” to a lunchtime crowd since opening in January, but had put booze and dinner service on hold until now.

With the addition of a full bar stocked with Canebrake Ale and Shiner Bock on tap, along with several drink specials, Simon Beck and Dayne Womax’s Southern spot appears to be in full swing and ready for the Jazz Fest crowds.

Lunch is served Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner is served Thursday through Saturday 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A Sunday brunch is expected to launch soon.
