The French Ciné Club's will screen late French-Icelandic filmmaker Solveig Anspach's 2016 romantic comedy L’effet Aquatique (The Aquatic Effect, also renamed The Together Project)) at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans (1519 Jackson Ave.). The story involves a 40-year-old man who pretends he can't swim to get close to the swim instructor with whom he has fallen in love at first sight. The film won a Cesar Award (the French Oscars) for Best Original Screenplay. Tickets are $5, free for AFNO members. More info here.
