New Orleans natives Patricia Clarkson and Jason Mitchell and Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe are among the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival’s special guests.

Clarkson will be interviewed Oct. 14 at the Ace Hotel New Orleans, 600 Carondelet St. A New York City resident, Clarkson is in New Orleans to film “Out of Blue,” a mystery directed by Carol Morley.

Mitchell, a cast member in this year’s Centerpiece film, “Mudbound,” will attend the film’s Oct. 14 screening at the Ace. The New Orleans Film Festival will also honor Mitchell with its Trailblazer Award.

Sidibe will screen her directorial debut — the short film “Tale of Four” — and participate in a live recording of Slate’s “Represent” podcast Oct. 14 at the Ace.

Sidibe, an Oscar nominee for her performance in “Precious,” filmed two seasons of “American Horror Story” in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Film Festival runs Oct. 11 through Oct. 19 at venues throughout the city. For more information, see
