Hard Rock Cafe celebrating birthday

Hard Rock Cafe New Orleans, 125 Bourbon St., on Saturday will celebrate its birthday with a Burger Badge Bash, honoring New Orleans’ police, firefighters and emergency medical technicians with a Legendary Burger at the special price of 71 cents, which commemorates the year Hard Rock Cafe was founded in London.

In addition, Hard Rock Cafe New Orleans will celebrate with free birthday cake, ’70s music videos, fun photo opportunities with costumed staff and prizes for Hard Rock Rewards members throughout the day. The event begins at 11 a.m.

To receive a special-priced Legendary Burger on Saturday, civil servants must present proper identification and badge stating their eligible status.

The offer is valid only for dining-in and is limited to one item.

Royal Sonesta plans Round Table Luncheon

The value of locally sourced foods within New Orleans’ growing Farm-to-Table movement will be discussed at the Royal Sonesta’s Round Table Luncheon at noon June 18.

Cost is $50 inclusive with advance reservations or $55 at the door. Parking is complimentary in the hotel’s parking garage.

Elisa Munoz, director of the Crescent City Farmers Market, will talk about the benefits of farm-to-table practices; chef Melissa Martin, who offers farm-to-table Cajun cuisine through her Mosquito Supper Club, will discuss how her early immersion in fresh, seasonal ingredients has shaped her culinary philosophy; and Jon Smith, the new executive director of the French Market Corp. and founder of the Mid-City Farmers Market, will talk about his ideas to expand the corporation’s farmers market offerings.

Hosted by Margarita Bergen in the hotel’s Fleur de Lis Suite, the three-course, “Farm-to-ROUND-Table” luncheon will include plenty of Champagne.

The menu will feature Chappapeela Farms Duck Confit Tamales With Watermelon Salsa and Citrus Tossed Baby Rocket; Louisiana Heritage Beef “French Quarter Strip” With Creole Country Andouille and Okra Ragout paired with Louisiana Crab and Crawfish Cheesecake accompanied with Liuzza Farms Summer Squash Medley and Herbed “Jazzmen” Rice Grits; and Pomegranates Catalane and Compressed Clementine With Espresso Chocolate Crumble and Crème Chantilly.

Red Fish Grill in N.O. sets Parish beer dinner

Ralph Brennan and his team at Red Fish Grill, 115 Bourbon St., New Orleans, will host a beer dinner on June 25.

The event will feature five of Parish Brewing Co. of Broussard’s craft-brewed bières, including its flagship Canebrake — the only commercial beer brewed with Steen’s Cane Syrup. Its beers will be paired with five courses by Executive Chef Austin Kirzner’s from Crawfish Boil Chowder to Cast-iron Seared Louisiana Beef.
