Hugely popular British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is booked at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Oct. 31, 2018.
Tickets go on sale Oct. 20, more than a year ahead of the actual concert.
The Halloween night show is one of 15 stadium concerts across North America that Sheeran announced on Friday.
He last performed in New Orleans during the 2015 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, when he drew an enormous crowd to the Gentilly Stage.
The former street busker has ascended to the upper echelon of the music industry. In July 2015, he sold out three consecutive nights at London's massive Wembley Stadium, playing to 80,000 fans each night. He performed alone with his guitar and a set of pedals that he uses to "loop" guitar and percussion parts.
Performing next year on Halloween Night, a Wednesday, may create a conflict for some of his younger fans.
So far, Sheeran is the only announced concert for the Superdome in 2018. The only stand-alone concert in the Dome this year was U2 earlier this month. In 2016, the Dome hosted two stand-alone shows, by Guns 'N Roses and Beyonce.
To combat scalping, Sheeran is using Ticketmaster's Verified Fan system. Fans who create an account with Ticketmaster and are verified through the system will be eligible for a ticket pre-sale.
Pre-registration closes on Oct. 12. Details are available on Sheeran's web site and through Ticketmaster.
