It will be a busy day at Ticketmaster outlets and the Saenger Theatre box office on Friday as tickets go on sale for several upcoming concerts.
The modern rock band Needtobreathe will headline the Saenger on Oct. 17 as part of its ongoing Tour de Compadres. The “compadres” for this show include Mat Kearney, Parachute and Welshly Arms. Ticket prices range from $24.50 to $54.50, on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
The Gipsy Kings are headed to the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts on Aug. 13. Tickets go on sale Friday at the Saenger box office — the Saenger handles advance sales for the Mahalia Jackson Theater — and via Ticketmaster, priced at $49.75 and $59.75.
Much-acclaimed singer-songwriter John Prine returns to New Orleans for a Dec. 2 show at the Saenger. Tickets for that concert are also on sale Friday at 10 a.m., for $63.50 to $103.50.
Seats for Elton John’s Oct. 5 concert at the Baton Rouge River Center go up for grabs on Friday as well. They start at $26.50 and range up to $146.40.
Two other big shows already are on sale. Contemporary R&B hitmaker R. Kelly is bringing the tour for his 13th studio album, “The Buffet,” to the Smoothie King Center on June 19. Tickets start at $75 and top out at $119.
And the partially reunited Guns N’ Roses is headed to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on July 31. Prices for standard tickets start at $52 and go up to $237, on sale now. Or you can spend considerably more for one of several VIP packages, including the $1,747 “Welcome to the Jungle Pit Experience.”
The above ticket prices do not include the inevitable service charges and additional fees.
