The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s 12th annual “Christmas Rocks! Tour” is coming to the Saenger Theatre on Dec. 8.

The “Christmas Rocks! Tour” follows the Oct. 16 release of “Rockin’ Rudolph,” Setzer’s first Christmas studio album in 10 years.

“It’s always exciting to add new songs,” the rockabilly singer-guitarist said about his 31-city tour’s set list. “I’m thinking about opening with ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.’ We have never done that one before.”

Tickets for The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s “Christmas Rocks! Tour” go on sale Friday at noon at the Saenger Theatre Box Office, ticket or by calling (800) 745-3000. The Saenger box office, 1111 Canal St., is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are subject to service charges and fees.

Before his solo career, Setzer, bassist Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom achieved fame in the 1980s with their rockabilly trio, The Stray Cats. Setzer has three Grammy awards; has portrayed rockabilly pioneer Eddie Cochran in the 1987 film “La Bamba”; and has been animated along with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Tom Petty for a 2002 episode of “The Simpsons.” Also in 2002, Setzer inducted country guitar great Chet Atkins into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
