A Yellow-crowned Night Heron was found dangling by one leg 30 feet above Ursulines Ave. in the Bayou St. John neighborhood in New Orleans, La., Wednesday, June 12, 2019. The bird, one of North America's two night heron species, was spotted around 9 am by neighborhood resident Laura Orwick. Neighbors contacted the Fire Department and the Audubon society who could offer no help. Neighbors eventually combined their talents to climb the tree and free the bird.
