Shawn Peterson, a person of interest in the overnight killings of a New Orleans Police Department dispatcher and two of her children, was meeting with detectives late Thursday morning.

Officer Hilal Williams, a Police Department spokeswoman, said Peterson arrived at police headquarters on his own to speak with investigators.

Police have not identified Peterson as a suspect in the deaths of 39-year-old Christine George, her 20-year-old daughter Trisa, or her 18-year-old son Leonard. Peterson is the father of Leonard George, according to Civil District Court records and relatives.

The three were shot to death late Wednesday inside the garage of their home in the 4400 block of Jeanne Marie Place in Gentilly.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 11:05 p.m. found the three suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced them dead on the scene.

Christine George had worked as a dispatcher since 2009, police have said.

Police have not identified a motive in the shooting.

Homicide Detective Darrell Doucette Jr. is in charge of the investigation.
