New Orleans police reported five armed robberies Saturday and Sunday.

The first incident happened about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, when a 59-year-old man responded to a knock at his door in the 8700 block of Forshey Street in Hollygrove. Police said a man with a gun walked in and started arguing with the victim. He left after taking the man’s money and cellphone.

About 1:30 p.m., a 41-year-old man was robbed at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way in Central City, police said. A man with a gun demanded his property. The victim complied.

The next armed robbery happened early Sunday in the Bywater. Police said a 58-year-old man was parking his car in the 700 block of Alvar Street shortly before 2 a.m. when a four-door SUV pulled up beside him. The front passenger in the SUV brandished a gun and demanded the victim’s property, while the rear passenger got out and searched his pockets. One of the robbers fled in the man’s Grand Marquis after taking his keys.

About two hours later, another armed robbery happened in the 7th Ward, at Spain and North Villere streets.

Police said a man with a gun approached a 27-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man about 3:45 a.m. The robber demanded their property, and they complied.

About 5:30 a.m., a 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were in the 1500 block of North Roman Street when a man with a chrome revolver approached them. He put the gun to the man’s head and ordered both him and the woman to the ground. After searching them, he fled with the woman’s purse, the man’s wallet and both their cellphones.
