Two Jefferson Parish men suspected of robbing a Gonzales diamond store on July 14 have been arrested, and authorities are searching for three others.

Police said four men entered a Roussel’s store on Airline Highway in Gonzales and rifled through jewelry display cabinets and a safe, then stole a video surveillance system.

A fingerprint helped investigators identify one suspect, a juvenile.

Social media posts then led them to name Walter Johnson, 33, of Metairie; Jay Lyons, 22, of Gretna; and Jacquendes Octave, 21, of Harvey as suspects.

According to police, they called themselves the “Truce Mob.”

Gonzales police said they have arrested Octave and plan to book him on four counts of armed robbery, four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one count of felony theft.

Johnson’s brother Casey was arrested in Georgia while driving a vehicle carrying a large quantity of diamond rings. He has been booked as an accessory after the fact to armed robbery. The other suspects are still at large.

Gonzales police asked anyone with information to call them at (225) 647-9536.
