A 38-year-old man died early Sunday morning after his motorcycle crashed on Interstate 10 East in New Orleans, according to police.
The accident happened around 12:45 a.m. near Spain Street and Elysian Fields Avenue.
According to NOPD, the man apparently lost control of his motorcycle and struck the back of a 2003 GMC Yukon. He was ejected from the 2003 Suzuki motorcycle and landed in the right lane of I-10.
He died on the scene.
The 51-year-old driver of the GMC Yukon was taken to an area hospital in stable condition. His 17-year-old passenger was not injured.
Blood and alcohol tests are pending. The victim's identity hasn't been released.
