A cast member of MTV’s reality show “The Real World: New Orleans” was found dead this week at a home in Wisconsin.
Ryan Knight, who appeared in the series when it filmed in the city in 2010, was 28.
According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Knight was sleeping at a friend’s house in Kenosha, Wisconsin, his hometown, when he died.
His friend realized he was not breathing about 10 a.m. Thursday and called 911, the newspaper reported. Efforts to revive him were not successful.
Knight was out with friends from Wednesday evening until Thursday morning, according to the report.
He had no obvious signs of injuries, and an autopsy found no “anatomical cause of death.”
Toxicology tests are pending.
Knight had complained about stomach pain in the days before he was found dead, and his death is being investigated as a medical or accidental death, the newspaper reported.
Knight had a prior addiction to painkillers, which reportedly began after he was prescribed medication for an injury he suffered while playing hockey.
