A New Orleans police officer was suspended this week after being arrested in a domestic incident in St. Tammany Parish.
Officer Keith Ambrose, a 14-year veteran of the department assigned to the 8th District, was booked on a count of domestic abuse battery by strangulation. He was placed on emergency suspension without pay.
Ambrose, 42, is accused of physically assaulting a woman inside his home. He surrendered to Slidell police on Monday.
WWL-TV reported that Ambrose was released from jail but ordered to wear an ankle monitor.
