Jefferson Community Health Care Centers will open a $1.5 million clinic in Avondale on Sept. 4 that replaces a clinic there.

“The new building enables JCHCC to serve twice as many patients per year,” said Dr. Shondra Williams, JCHCC’s chief executive officer. “This is an enormous accomplishment for us as a health care provider, and a great relief to residents who are unable to get quality and affordable health care in Avondale.”

The clinic provides medical, dental, behavior health and other specialty services.

It was funded in part by the Facility Expansion Initiative, a cooperative endeavor agreement between the Louisiana Primary Care Association and Louisiana’s Division of Administration.

JCHCC operates four clinics in Jefferson Parish. Its locations handle more than 40,000 patient visits per year.
